Tom Sheppard, elder at South Main Church of Christ, offers some explanations about the question asked here.

“A lot of times, we think everyone goes to Heaven, but that is not the case, according to the Bible,” Tom said. “Jesus said in Matthew 7:21, ‘Not everyone who says to me, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. But he who does the will of My Father believes in Heaven.”

Romans 2:13 also contains a verse applying to this question. “It is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who are righteous.”

We don’t just hear the word, but do what it says.
