Ernie Starling, elder at South Main Church of Christ, offers this answer to the question.

“In 1 Corinthians 3:17, if any man defiles the temple of God, him shall God destroy. For the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are,” Ernie said.

We are God’s temple on this earth. If we harm or destroy or sicken our bodies by smoking, we cannot serve God, or eat too much or wreck your body, we cannot serve God as we need to.

We need to be a good servant of what God has given to us.

Note: Our web offerings are one way of keeping in touch and can't replace in-person acts of worship.
